ONION PACKING PLANT

All onions are packed and handled using the latest technology, which includes computer controlled weighing and packing equipment.

Optical sizing / sorting machine, where each onion is inspected by infra-red camera to distinguish the colour, shape, weight, size, defects and blemishes of the produce, which then determines the appropriate grade and diverts the product to the designated packing line.

Once the onions are packed it moves along a conveyer belt through to a fully automated robot that gently handles the packaged product for palletising. The onion packing plant has the ability to pack up to 30tonnes per hour.
