QUALITY ASSURANCE

Fruitorama has made its name synonymous with quality. Quality and service are the backbone of our business. In order to consistently maintain the highest levels of product safety and quality all employees strive for a company wide commitment to excellence.

Fruitorama has developed and implemented a food safety and quality assurance program that meets and exceeds the requirements of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and good manufacturing practices. Fruitorama holds current WQMS Certification.

An important part of this system is the HACCP program, which ensures that all quality and safety hazards associated with operations have been identified and controlled. This HACCP Program has been recently extended to incorporate our growing operations, with our farms completing Farm Care Accredited courses.

During the development of the Quality System each part of the operation was assessed in order to identify any potential risks to food safety and quality. Measures were then put in place in order to alleviate these risks. The storage of all produce is in a clean, temperature-controlled environment.

Refrigeration temperature is monitored throughout the day and the produce is transported in refrigerated vehicles. The temperature of the vehicle is checked prior to loading and is monitored during delivery.

Successful mock recalls have been carried out without any complications. Products are itemized and labelled to ensure traceability down to the growers level. If there is a problem it can be traced back to the source – stopped and then corrected. An actual recall has not had to be conducted from Fruitorama's packing shed but in the event that there is a situation where it is required the procedures are in place.

The Quality System further contributes to controlling the growing, packing, storage and transport of produce to ensure customers receive the best available produce in the best possible condition.
