RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

Over the years, Fruitorama has consistently invested in product development. The objective has always been to facilitate the development of improved strains of white potatoes that can offer growers better tolerance to damage, bruising, and disease, improved quality and better yields per pivot.

These relationships have enabled Fruitorama to remain at the forefront of potato production. When we are dealing with these producers, Fruitorama are endeavouring to bring the best performing, best eating and ultimately the best selling potato and onion varieties to the shelves of our customers.

We have worked closely with Government funded bodies, such as the Department of Primary Industries and the South Australian Research and Development Institute.

Kangaroo Island has been chosen as the location for the majority of our Product Development trial work. This location has been selected due to its disease free status with respect to potato production.
